Name: Setzer.
Age: 29
Homeworld: Twilight Town.
History: Setzer has spent his life in Twilight Town, growing up as a well-known member of the community, mostly due to his skill at the local sport, known as the Struggle. From an early age, however, his true passion lay in gambling, and he saw the Struggle battle as just one more challenge to win. He could often be found betting against all and sundry, and mostly winning these bets. Those who ran in the same field as he learnt that it was best to be wary when challenging him. In the Struggle itself, he rarely lost a match, and found himself retaining the title of town champion almost exclusively. As he grew up, and his fame developed, he also found that he attracted a frightening amount of screaming fans. Often, he would let them scream - he found it helped intimidate his opponent and gave him the edge.
In his teenage years, he continued to train and spend his time gambling, working in odd jobs to gain what money he needed. This was rarely an issue though, as his wins far outweighed his losses. By now, Setzer was considered a celebrity in the town, and his arrogance expanded with it. He became more and more full of himself, and he distanced himself from others. All his focus went into becoming the best of the best, and in many fields he succeeded.
This training, and celebrity, continued until recently, when, during the penultimate Struggle tournament that Twilight Town would hold, he was defeated by Roxas, the nobody of Sora, and once a member of Organization XIII before deserting. When Roxas disappeared from everyone’s memories, Setzer found himself the remaining champion once more, and unaware of his defeat. His ego was now at its height, and he eagerly awaited the next Struggle tournament.
However, it was during the final of the Struggle tournament, in a match against Hayner, that the Heartless broke into Twilight Town. Confident of his ability to fight these creatures, Setzer stood and fought, alongside those defending the Sandbox. In a fighting retreat, he discovered that not even his abilities were able to match the sheer numbers of Heartless and the powers their controllers had over them. With his allies, he fought the Heartless back towards the Usual Spot, watching his allies dropping to their foes and gradually loosing their hearts. He became more panicked, and at one point was overwhelmed. Luckily, his strong belief in his abilities won over, and he successfully made it without falling to his foes. There, he stood alongside Hayner, Seifer and the rest as they faught off the Heartless to a point when they stopped attacking, Maleficent believing the town to be under her firm control.
From that point on, Setzer became a vital member of the Twilight Survivor’s Group, acting as a powerful member of the combatant sub-group and fighting the Heartless without fear, determined to prove that he was as good as any of them in any situation. He focused more, adapting his fighting style to facing the various kinds of Heartless that populated Twilight Town. He learnt the value of teamwork, though still strives to prove himself as being as good as he ever was.
Personality: Once an arrogant and flamboyant man, Setzer is more easy-going than he was, though he still had his calm demeanour, and still enjoys being in the spotlight. Confident, inside of battle his is a focused warrior, fighting with an emotionless stare. Outside of battle, he is reasonably quiet and prefers actions to words. He watches others with a slightly superior expression.
Description: Setzer is a man of average build, with slicked back grey hair which flows into spikes. His face is fairy attractively, with a mouth which curls into a small smile of slight superiority. He wears a black coat with yellow lining, which is fastened around his neck and hung like a cape on his shoulders. He wears a pale purple shirt and deep purple trousers.
Weaponry: Setzer wields a Struggle bat, which he uses to deadly effect. Since Traverse Town was taken over by Maleficent and her Heartless, he has adapted his fighting style from non-lethal to lethal, to aid their new struggle.
Sub-Group: Combatants.
Word Verification: Roxas.
Writing Sample: Setzer had seen the creature quickly - it was difficult to miss something like that, especially an isolated one. The man didn’t even bother to try hide, he had no need to. It was a lone Soldier Heartless, nothing tazing for a man of his skill and panache. Luckily, the Soldier Heartless had its back to him, and he had the upper hand. Drawing his Struggle bat, he span it once in his hand, letting it circle down to point towards the ground and back into his awaiting grip. Taking a few steps forward, he pointed the weapon directly at the Soldier Heartless and coughed, trying to catch its attention.
The creature turned its armoured head, looking at what had dared disturb it, but by then it was too late for it to react. Setzer was already charging full pelt, weapon trailing behind him. He was already a few feet away from the enemy now, and as he took a few, larger bounds, he weapon was brought up to collide with the helmet of the Soldier Heartless. Before the thing could even cry out, the weapon had been spun back around to crush the back of its head, letting it dissolve into the darkness that it had come from. Skidding to a halt a few paces away from the spot where he had struck, Setzer turned his body back to look at the now empty space. Nodding and grinning, Setzer sheathed his weapon at his side again, adjusting the coat hung around his neck.
